As many individuals look to restore and renovate their homes, there are increased requirements for wood floor restoration after the work has completed. Why is this? It is often a real challenge to keep dust, dirt and damage from accumulating during the processes needed to restore a house. It may be that walls are taken down, plastering work is completed, new walls may be being built, electrical work completed or many other scenarios.

Either way, even with the best preparation and will in the world, it is likely that your floors will suffer. When dirt is being created, even respectful tradesmen find it a challenge to keep on top of the masses of dust and rubble created. Some go so far as to sacrifice the floor from the get-go and take the decision that it will just have to be restored once the other work has been completed.

We visited this property in Lancashire where a host of building work had been completed. As you can see from the initial picture, the floor was completely covered with building material and dust. This covered the surface and dust and dirt were compacted into each of the lines between the boards. We got to work to restore the wooden floor so that it appropriately complimented the surrounding areas of the newly restored property.

All of the surface dust is extracted with the floor sanding process. Before this process, it is often a challenge to imagine how the floor will look like after it has been sanded. The boards were in great condition once sanded and were prepared appropriately for a new wood finish.
